A Y F N supports and teaches family members with children and youth with emotional/behavioral or neural-behavioral problems to:

  • find and negotiate the right family-driven and youth-driven mental health and substance abuse treatment and educational services for their child/youth
  • teach family members to develop a personalized recovery management system built on their individual and community assets and strengths
  • network with other youth, parents and professionals
  • become equal partners in the delivery of family and youth driven best practices in a system of care for Alaskans

      AYFN is adding a second Anchorage Office at 401 E. Northern Lights Suite 100

      Our primary Anchorage office has changed to 401 E. Northern Lights Suite 100  (northeast corner of Northern Lights and Denali).

      We will still have an office in the AHFC Gateway Leraning Center at 801 Karluk, Suite 1.

      If you need to meet with someone from AYFN in person, please call first so that we can coordinate with you on a meeting time and place.

      April 18th will be the first M2U Youth Support group meeting at our E. Northern Lights location.

      April 25th, the fourth Friday of the month, our Parent Support/Youth Support and Social Group (ages 6-11) will all be meeting at our new location.

      Look for celebration and open house events on May 8th from 4 pm until 8 pm.

      Parenting with Love and Logic - April class

      Join us for a 7 week course, Parenting with Love and Logic. Geared for parenting a child or teen with behavioral or neurobehavioral health issues. Suitable for parents of children of all ages!

      Kids pushing your buttons? Draining your energy? Outthinking you? Arguing? Come and join us! The next class is scheduled to begin May 13th 2008, for seven Tuesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm in Anchorage. To register or make an inquiry call Jacquie at 764-4441.
