Drug Free America for Parents
The Partnering with Families mission is to inspire more parents and family members to connect with their kids in ways that persuade them not to use drugs.

Drugs - Getting Help
While you, a friend, or a loved one may be hesitant to seek help, know that treatment programs offer organized and structured services with individual, group, and family therapy for people faced with a drug-related issue. If you have a concern about drugs, or if you know someone who might have a substance abuse problem, there are many others out there just like you, and there is help available.

Inhalant Prevention
The New England Inhalant Abuse Prevention Coalition is dedicated to reducing the impact of inhalant abuse among children and youth. We do this by educating parents and youth-serving professionals to apply best practices in inhalant abuse prevention.

Inhalant Resources
The New England Inhalant Abuse Prevention Coalition, a CSAP funded project, has created an on-line training for parents on inhalant abuse. Parents can now go online and take a 20-30 minute course that will teach them what they need to know about the dangers of inhalant abuse, how to talk with their kids about it, and where to follow up for more information.

Memorials

NIDA for Teens
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Heath (NIH), created this Web site to educate adolescents ages 11 through 15 (as well as their parents and teachers) on the science behind drug abuse. NIDA enlisted the help of teens in developing the site to ensure that the content addresses appropriate questions and timely concerns.

Silence Isn't Golden, it's Permission
No loving relationship can exist without good communication. Teens believe they have valuable things to say, and when a parent genuinely listens, it helps self-esteem and confidence. It will take more than five minutes to talk to your teen about drugs and alcohol - it's about building an ongoing dialogue. If you or a parent you know would be interested in knowing more about communicating with teens, please visit our site.
