American Bar Association Center Discussion Groups on child abuse and neglect
This list provides professionals from a variety of disciplines to discuss the issues that arise when children are exposed to domestic violence and when child maltreatment and domestic violence co-occur. It is open to anyone interested in discussing the issues around these cases. The list is supported by a grant from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation and is part of our ongoing project to involve attorneys in efforts to improve practice in cases involving domestic violence and children.

CHILD-OMBUDSMAN
This discussion group is for the use of individuals, within the United States and elsewhere in the world, who a) are engaged in ombudsman or ombudsman-like work on behalf of children, youth, or families, b) are interested in developing a child-focused ombudsman program in their community, state, or country, or c) who are studying, advocating for, or otherwise supporting such child ombudsman activities. The list will only be open to such individuals. This group will principally provide a vehicle for children's ombudsmen to share information with their colleagues concerning recent developments in their work, problems encountered, and emerging issues they expect to encounter. The American Bar Association, through the ABA Center on Children and the Law, has written a book on children's ombudsmen and hosted three meetings for those engaged in this work. The operation of this new listserv is a way we can continue to support such important work.
